Runes Cafe Development

A Collaboration of the
City of Taunton, Taunton Redevelopment Authority and Heart of Taunton

Undoubtedly, private sector investment will lead the way for an improved quality of life on the Taunton Green. At the first suggestion of Runes Cafe, the consensus was unanimous: "That's exactly what we need! Mayor Nunes, City Officials and Organizations were quick to cooperate, assist planning, and mitigate risk. Runes Cafe will stand for decades as a symbol of cooperation and commitment by the many decision makers involved.

Business Development on the Taunton Green

Mayor Nunes and the Taunton City Council are committed to business and economic development. The Mayors Office of Economic Development lead by Mr. Kevin Shea is the vehicle for action. Mr. Shea is a member of the Board of Directors for many of the following organizations and should be consulted early in the business development planning process (see planners gallery). In the last few years Taunton has been recognized as offering attractive opportunity costs and excellent geography for business development. Augmenting Taunton Development are the Taunton Redevelopment Authority, the Taunton Development Corporation the principle developers of the Taunton Industrial Park, East Taunton Industrial Park and the RT 140 Retail District, the Heart of Taunton with interest in the Taunton Green and the Weir Corporation with interests in the Weir section of Taunton.

The Taunton Green is about to see substantial building activity. Runes Cafe and the 9 Taunton Green rehabilitation will be the first example of the new commercial building events. The City Council recently approved a height variance for the former Barrons Furniture site for a new 5 story medical condominium office building. The site of the former Seely Building has an interested developer planning a four story building of residential condominiums, underground parking and first floor retail space. The long awaited new court house project is scheduled to begin construction in ernest in 2008. And, the Dorsy family is currently in permitting for the building of condominiums at the corner of Weir St. and the Taunton Green.

By all accounts the Runes Cafe will make an excellent contribution to the quality of life on the Taunton Green for residents, downtown working professionals and the students of Mass Info Tech. From the planning stages of Runes Cafe to the start of construction the City of Taunton has mitigated risk and worked to limit cost. Once your physical plant is underway, call Mass Info Tech for the finest local Human Resource candidates!
