The Henningsvær design is a classic cable knit sweater named after an idyllic group of islands in the region Lofoten in the North of Norway. Henningsvær consists of several small islands scattered in the iceblue Vestfjorden , sheltered by the mountain Vågakallen.
With the tall mountain in its back, and surrounded by the ocean on three sides, Henningsvær became a natural harbour for fishermen.
It became the Lofoten region's largest and most active fishing village, but nowadays there are as many pleasure boats as fishing boats. Henningsvær with its brightly painted wooden houses and postcard-like harbour is certainly one of the most charming fishing villages in Lofoten.
