Campus Conduct Policy

Mass Info Tech students are to conduct themselves in a manner, which does not disrupt or interfere
with the learning of fellow students or with the orderly operation of the school. 

If staff observes a prohibited behavior, they will give one warning to stop and will dismiss
the student for the day on the second instance
.

Behaviors which are prohibited on campus include but are not limited to the list below:

  • Personal/private conversations during class
  • Throwing anything
    Profanity/swearing
  • Putting feet on furniture/walls
  • Leaning back on two legs only of chairs
  • Moving about the room in rolling chairs
  • Eating food in the classroom
  • Talking/texting on a cell phone
  • Sleeping or putting head down
  • Spitting
  • Horseplay/physical contact/roughhousing
  • Cell phone seen or heard by instructor during class period  *
  • Presents as being under the influence of drugs or alcohol  **

 

* Cell phones should be neither seen nor heard from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
and from 1:00  p.m.  – 3:00 p.m.  If students wishes to use their cell phone during
lunch on school premises, this must be done in the break room or in the GED classroom
(if it is not in use by staff).

Student Agreement - Terms and Conditions

Attendance—If you are to be late or absent due to illness or an unexpected emergency,
you must notify the school before 9:00 am.  If you do not call by 9:00 am,
you will be considered a No-Call-No-Show (NCNS).

Punctuality—Classes are held Monday through Friday. 
Classes are held from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with lunch from 12;00 pm—1:00 pm
You will be counted as late if you arrive after 9:00 am in the morning or after 12:30 pm
when returning from lunch.

If you are more than an hour late for morning class, you should notify the school
and arrive for the afternoon session only. 

Conduct —Students will adhere to the Campus Conduct Policy.

 

Student Agreement Policy Infractions include:

  • No-Call-No-Show
  • Three late arrivals in one week
  • Violation of Campus Conduct Policy

 

If you receive three policy infractions in a one month period, you will be suspended for one week.

Upon returning from a suspension, the “one strike  you’re out rule” applies.  If students have any
form of infraction (including a late) during their first week back, they will be placed back
on suspension until a meeting is held with the Program Director, the Career Center Youth Counselor,
and a parent if the student is under 18.

You will have a clean slate at the start of each new month unless returning from a suspension
at which point you will be held to the “one strike you’re out rule” described above.
